You’ve got cash!
September 14, 2007 by Luka Esenko · 3 Comments
Today is a very special day:)! I just recieved an email from Moneybookers.com! And the first words I read were You’ve got cash! Man, that was really fast! I didn’t expect it that soon, I only requested a payment from Istock.com yesterday. These are my first 100$ and of course I wanted to try how the actual payment work. It is quite easy; First I needed to open an account at Moneybookers, which is simple and it takes only 5 minutes. Then I requested payment from Istock, where I just entered my email, that I use for MB and that was it!. The only downside is that a Dollar is loosing its value compared to Euro, a 100$ is only 71,6€.
Here is the photo that earned me the hundreth Buck:
Why is a pbase.com a great place?
September 12, 2007 by Luka Esenko · 1 Comment
It is almost two years now, since I joined Pbase community. At first I only wanted a fast and reliable place to publish my photos. So I bought 500Mb of disk space and started to upload photos. The service back then was quite spartan but I didn’t need any assistance or special features anyways. In fact I was glad, that it was so simple to use, so I got familiar with the system very quickly.
The best thing about Pbase is, that my photos are being viewed regularly without any extra effort. I just upload them, enter proper keywords, mark what equipment they were taken with and that is more or less it. Of course I browse popular galleries, leave a comment or two, so people return a favour sometimes. Pbase also gets high ranks at Google search engine. Since I joined (less than 22 months ago) Pbase community, my pages were visited more than 391.000 times! Read more

African safari photo tips
September 12, 2007 by Luka Esenko · 9 Comments
One of my favourite travel destinations is definitely Africa. With the word Africa I do not mean the Mediterranean part of the continent, which reminds me more of a Middle East than real “black” Africa. It is hard to say what fascinates me more, the people, their music, unspoilt nature or unique wildlife? Probably the combination of all these things, but the biggest impression makes the savanna with its wilderness, beautiful and cruel at the same time.

About me…

I am…
…a student
I study Management and organisation at Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana. It is the largest faculty in Slovenia with over 10.000 students. Fortunately I am already working on my bachelor’s thesis, hoping to graduate this year(Sept 2007). In 2005 I also went to study abroad, to Management Center Innsbruck, Austria, where I attended the Management in Tourism program.
…a traveller
Travelling is great! It is the best way to meet interesting people, see amazing places, learn that there is not just our way of living and the best way to spend all the money and not feeling bad about it. I started to travel when I finished hi-school. It was a trip to Scotland, a land of bad weather, but great beer. Since then I visited more than 30 different countries in Europe, Asia and Africa. It is hard to say which place is my favourite, but the most amazing experience was Africa with its people and wildlife.
...a photographer
Travelling around so often I wanted desperately to memorise all the beautiful things I came across. So eventually I bought a digital camera. It was Fujifilm S5500, quite handy and cool camera, but I wanted more. My next step was Nikon d70s, which gave me all the freedom I wanted in photography. Soon my photo-backpack weighted over 10 kilos of equipment and the latest acquisition is Nikon D200.
My photos were published to different travel-oriented magazines, books and several travel catalogues all over the world. Recently I started also to publish my photos to micro-stock agencies. So far so good, but I intend to set up my private studio. I am interested in photography in general, but my favourite themes are travel and wildlife photography.
…a guide
It was a natural decision for me to become a tourist guide. I love working with people and to do some travelling and photography at the same time is a blessing. I am tourist guide licenced by Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia. Since 2002 I worked with the best Slovenian travel agencies. In average I am guiding around 150 days per year.
Some countries I know very well; Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Austria, Thailand, China, Kenya, Tanzania…
…an entrepreneur
Since 2004 I am self employed and I worked mainly in tourism. In December 2006 I linked up with two of my collegues and we found a company called Židana Marela (literally it means Merry Umbrela or Jolly Brolly). We are specialised in organising events which are based on Slovenian tradition. Usually we work with travel agencies, but sometimes also for other companies or individuals. If you are interested about our company, you can visit our web page.
…a blogger
Finally I joined this vast community of web bloggers. I never liked writing, but the truth is it is worth the effort. This way it is easier to stay in touch with all the friends all over the world. Blogging is a good way to find new friends and also to tell other people about myself and about my work. Funny, I am starting to like blogging!:)
…happy to live in Slovenia.
…28 years young (born in 1979)
…addicted to chocolate.

This blog is about my two greatest passions; photography and travelling. I want to share my experiences with as many people as possible. If you like this place, leave me a comment and show it to your friends as well! Enjoy!
