Karst in Fall

December 17, 2009 by Luka

Fall this year arrived late. And because of that it was only for a short time that beautiful hues coloured foliage in nature. It was a beautiful Sunday and with friends, fellow photographers we visited Karst region, close to the coast of Slovenia. We left our cars near Socerga village and went for a hike to Kraski rob (Karst Ridge). A perfect timing for the colours! The superstar among bushes is definitely a Smoke Tree (or Sumach) with its reddish colour in different hues.

A view from the top to the Croatian side of the border.

Silly photographers – everything for a good photo opp… :-)

Limestone ridge.

A natural bridge is always fun to climb!

Red Smoke tree bushes from distance.

And from close…

And even closer…

The Karst ridge is at its highest at Socerga, close to Croatian border crossing into Istria. (Note my girlfriend standing at the bottom of it)

Best time to visit this stunningly beautiful place is in the afternoon when there is a gentle warm sunlight.

Yes, Neja is biologist – obviously enough:)

    Fajn fotke.

Zanima me, kako oz. s čim si pri tazadnji osvetlil?

Res lepe fotografije, barve so res jesenske.
