Nevenka&Mankica thanks for you comments.

I wouldn't know the correct English translation for Gibanica - if there is one anyway. It should be translated something like "Folded cake from prekmurje region" but it sounds weird. "Over Mura moving cake" is an old joke that my parents told me. But it sounds funny - at least to us, Slovenians:)

Anytime somebody asks me questions like "What's the traditional food in Slovenia" or "Which is your favourite Slovenian food" i don't really know what to answer ... because sausage and sauerkraut ... well, foreginers look at me with big ? above their heads ... but anyway - I like slovenian food and gibanica is one of my favourite (no wonders why ... my roots are from Prekmurje though)... but what I really like at your post is how you translated the name. :) is that the official english name for that delicious desert? :) just asking ... to know how to translate gibanica people coming from abroad next time ... :)
cheers, m.

Thank you for a good laugh. Your translation of Prekmurska gibanica is the best.
