Canoeing on the Ljubljanica river
August 14, 2008 by Luka Esenko

Last week my father and I went canoeing on the Ljubljanica river. Funny, I live on the riverbank of the river, but this was the first time this year I went boating. It was a nice sunny afternoon and the light was beautiful. There were plenty of animals around and most of them are accustomed to the presence of people. It is quite easy to take photos, but you shoud be careful that the boat doesn’t turn around.

It is also possible to hire a boat and it takes about half an hour of easy rowing up the stream to get into complete wilderness. Mallard ducks are plenty, common moorhens are having their second chicks this year and we’ve seen a lot of Nutria families.

Do not forget; camera and waterproof bag, binoculars, sunscreen and insect repellent, a hat, plenty of drinking water and beer - of course:).

If you are rowing from the Livada restaurant up the stream, after you pass the bridge on the right hand side there is a place where I live. give me a shout - maybe i will join you!

This blog is about my two greatest passions; photography and travelling. I want to share my experiences with as many people as possible. If you like this place, leave me a comment and show it to your friends as well! Enjoy!
