Pudong area, Shanghai
November 12, 2007 by Luka Esenko
Shanghai is one of the most amazing cities I’ve ever been to. One of the things that fascinates me the most is definitely its modern architecture. Especially Pudong is futuristic and in the evening it is even more attractive. The Bund offers good opportunity for photography and there are always numerous photographers trying to capture these magnificent views. But usually the air is so humid and polluted, that it is impossible to see bright sky. This year I was there four times and only once I got lucky with weather conditions. It was a windy evening so it was difficult to get sharp photo, even with a tripod. Here is the photo from that night (it was in mid August):

Nikon D200, Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED at 17mm, f16, 25s

This is the same photo, but edited in PS. I wanted more dramatic atmosphere.
I still cannot decide which one looks better to me. What do you think?

This blog is about my two greatest passions; photography and travelling. I want to share my experiences with as many people as possible. If you like this place, leave me a comment and show it to your friends as well! Enjoy!

This is really terrific Luka. The B&W version is superbly processed and totally effective. It just make me want to take the next flight to Shanghai!
Cheers,
Yves
?B je res izjemna. ?estitke!!!
I was there …
nice memories…
Stunning. Do you mind if I share this site with Travelbookmarking.com?
Damn with you man! You got some really nice photos here! I have to _really_ start follow your site…
All the best from boring, cold and grey Finland!
Super, lani ob tem ?asu sem bila tam in mesto me je fasciniralo. ?B fotka je sicer prav tako izjemna, a prav Pudong mi je osebno boljši v barvah. Barvna je tako huda, da je sploh ne morem komentirati ….
Luka, Lovely photo’s. Came across your website looking for photo’s of Pudong - maybe relocating there. Is the pollution as bad as I am reading and a concern for relocating with children?
